The Friends' Purpose

The Friends of the Hudson Area Joint Library is a non-profit, tax-deductible organization that serves three functions:

  • Raises money for special Library needs
  • Works for improved library services
  • Provides a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for Library use and services

How Friends' Help

  • Promote the library and library service in the community
  • Purchase equipment and furniture for the library
  • Expand library selection and materials
  • Support special children's programs
  • Volunteers time

What You Can Do . . .

  • Reach out and become a member [Membership form]
  • Reach out and volunteer your time
  • Reach out and financially support library activities by : donations (tax deductible) of cash gifts and/or property; remembering us in your will; honoring your loved ones through a memorial gift. Your generosity and loved ones will be remembered forever.
  • Reach out and use the library.

Bargain Book Sale

The Friends semi-annual book sales are a major fundraiser for the Library. Donated books are also available for purchase year round in the Library lobby. All proceeds benefit the Hudson Area Joint Library. Bring your donations of gently used books*, tapes, and CDs to the Library and stay and browse! The next book sale will be held in May 2010. 

*We do not accept Reader's Digest condensed books, National Geographic magazines, or items in bad condition.
